Fresco XL Claims to Have a Range of 620 miles

Fresco XL Claims to Have a Range of 620 miles – Norwegian tech startup Fresco Motors has just revealed its new Fresco XL. Fresco XL is their first electric vehicle (EV). The company claims it will have a range of 620 miles (1,000 km). If the claims were true, it would make it the world’s longest-range EV.

Currently, the 2021 Lucid Air is the long-range EV on the market with its EPA rating of 520 miles (837 km). Mercedes-Benz has announced the partially solar-powered Vision EQXX with a range of 620 miles (1000 km), but that’s only in the concept stage.

The new trading company Fresco Motors was founded in 2019. The name Fresco refers to the name of the futurist engineer Jacque Fresco. In its new statement, the company announced that the Fresco XL will feature an electric motor on each axle. This means the all-wheel-drive EV will be off-road capable.

The company also says the vehicle will come with a double-stack extra-large battery pack that “solves the problem of range anxiety”, though it didn’t reveal any specs. It was also announced that the Fresco XL will be eight-seater. In addition, this EV will also come with aerodynamic rims to ensure high energy efficiency.

Fresco Motors also hints at bidirectional charging compatibility. They say the EV can be used as a “backup unit in the event of an energy shortage”. And of course, this would be perfect for a weekend camper.

Bidirectional charging has the potential to transform energy supply as we know it, enabling greater energy independence for smart home owners. By enabling EV owners to connect their car to their home energy system and feed energy from the car back home, the car is effectively a battery on wheels.

Said Adrian Kristofer Locklindh, COO & Board Member of Fresco;

“If you need additional energy, plug your Fresco XL into your home or cabin. Due to its rather large battery, it will basically serve as a spare unit, and because the Fresco XL is a very large vehicle, you can easily use it for camping and camping.” road trips. All you have to do is pull the chair down to create a flat surface, place it on your bed and use it as a camper.”

While Fresco Motors has made bold claims when it comes to its new range of vehicles, we’ve seen little in the way of actual specs, and the company has so far only revealed rendered images of its vehicles. On its website, the company says you can make reservations for the EV, which will be priced at $114,330. Stay posted for further updates if and when we hear more about this ambitious EV project.
