With that said, the Aura Blockchain Consortium currently consists of five members. This consortium expands the capabilities of the blockchain platform in the near future.
The Aura Blockchain Consortium was founded five years ago in 2017. Furthermore, they depend on blockchain technology because there is a secure digital format available. This helps ensure transparency and traceability of the products and the source of these goods. As a result, it will help increase customer trust.
With the arrival of the metaverse, the consortium has also intensified its activities in creating its technical roadmap to include various non-fungible token (NFT) solutions. This is in line with the consortium’s collaborative approach, namely “by luxury brands for luxury brands.”
“Mercedes-Benz came to us from the luxury sector which was completely new to us. We are hereby excited to have them as our fifth founding member. This is an actionable step towards our greater goal of welcoming all sub-industry of the luxury industry […] Through the significant opportunities our solutions offer in relation to our activities related to upstream, downstream, and NFT, we are confident that Mercedes-Team Benz will make an outstanding contribution to our association and to the development of innovative and cutting-edge technologies. This is something we believe in.” Daniela Ott, who serves as Secretary General of the Aura Blockchain Consortium, made this statement.
During the conference, Stefano Rosso, leader of the BVX (Brave Virtual Xperience) cluster formed by OTB to produce projects and content for cyberspace, also welcomed the guests.
“Mercedes-Benz was the first car manufacturer to sign a contract with us. They have the high technical expertise and will help us broaden our horizons within the consortium”, he explained.
This seems like a warm welcome for Mercedes-Benz. A big step that this luxury automotive manufacturer has done. In the future, this manufacturer will be able to compete better, especially for young enthusiasts. The younger generation is now clearly playing in the realm of the metaverse. For the younger generation, the metaverse is a new ‘parallel’ world that they can live in whenever and wherever they are in the real world.
