The New Skoda Fabia Launches for the international market

The New Skoda Fabia Launches for the international market – The new 4th generation Skoda Fabia has officially launched for the international market. Based on the MQB A0 platform, the new Fabia is now much bigger than its predecessor. The new Skoda Fabia gets new technological packaging and includes engine upgrades.

The Skoda Fabia design language goes hand in hand with the Skoda family designs we see in the likes of Kushaq and even Kodiaq that got an update. The car seen here is in top-spec shape. This car company features full LED headlights that tilt aggressively and flank a large grille. The front bumper has large vents and plastic trim that complements the aggressive front, although it doesn’t look as sporty as its seat counterpart, the Ibiza. Skoda also offers alloy wheels ranging in diameter from 15 inches to 18 inches and features such as a full panoramic roof. At the rear, Fabia gets a familiar design with LED taillights similar to those of Skoda’s large vehicle. The design also makes the Fabia much more aerodynamic, with a drag coefficient of 0.28 compared to 0.32 of the previous generation.

The new Skoda Fabia is now bigger than its predecessor. Based on the MQB A0 platform, the new Fabia is now 111mm longer than before at 4108mm. Much of this additional length can be found in the wheelbase which has now been increased by 94 mm to offer more space for rear passengers. The hatchback is also 48mm wider, which will also contribute to the extra interior space. Fabia also gets a bigger trunk now, 380 liters with the seat on top or 1,190 liters with the seats folded flat.

As is typical for Skodas, the interior of the new Fabia has a two-spoke steering wheel and a relatively neatly designed interior. The hatchback also gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster on the top-spec variant for the first time. Other features include dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel, and windshield, LED ambient lighting, and rear air conditioning vents. The standalone touchscreen infotainment system is available in three different versions depending on the variant. The smallest is the 6.5-inch unit, while the larger 8-inch touchscreen and 9.2-inch touchscreen get Apple CarPlay-like wireless features. The Fabia is also equipped with a Wi-Fi hotspot and gets five USB C charging slots, including one in the inner rearview mirror in case the user wants to mount a dashboard camera.

The Skoda Fabia will be powered by a variety of petrol engines and will not get the diesel engine offered. The base model car will get a 1-liter MPI, a naturally aspirated motor that makes 65hp or 80hp. This engine is mated exclusively to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There is also a 1-liter TSI engine, similar to the one we got in India which offers 95hp or 110hp. While the lower-powered variant only gets a 5-speed manual, the higher-powered variant gets the 6-speed manual or 7 speed DSG option. The two 1 liter engines are 3 cylinder units. However, the topping range engine is the 1.5-liter TSI that produces 150hp and 250Nm of torque and is mated exclusively to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. This range-topping version goes from 0-100kph in just 7.9-seconds with a top speed of 225kph.
